Truth be told, a platter of greens may not be the right way to start a blog. Honestly, in 2022, I’m not sure anyone knows how to start a virtual life anymore. Thinking about it, I’ll start the only way I know how: through food and how it connects me to everyone in my life.
You see, the bok choy was part of a supermarket trip with a dear friend, browsing the aisles of the Asian super store. Picking up Pocky and trying to decide which ramen our partners would like best. The recipe is from fellow podcasters Marisa and Joy, who told me to sear the mini cabbages on high heat, then steam for that soft-crisp texture. The soy sauce and Gochujang are from my podcasting adventures.
The thing is, I’ve moved 1,000 miles from that dear friend. Broken up with the partner. Marisa and Joy are taking an extended pause from their recording. All that remains from the day I took this picture is plate of greens, and a warm heart.
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
